Former BMC and SAP Executive Joins Company to Broaden Awareness of Data Intelligence Platform
BURLINGAME, Calif. — November 4, 2015 – Blazent, the leader in IT data intelligence, today announced the appointment of enterprise software veteran, Dan Ortega, as Vice President of Marketing. Ortega joins Blazent after serving in strategic marketing roles at BMC and SAP, as well as several Fortune 500 companies and high-growth startups. At Blazent, Ortega will drive brand awareness of the company’s data intelligence solutions, overseeing product marketing, field and corporate marketing initiatives.
Prior to his position at Blazent, Ortega served in a leadership role at BMC where he developed a new category framework for the Digital Service Management division. During his tenure at Sybase (an SAP company), Ortega’s team supported the go-to-market strategy for the company’s mobility platforms. With deep roots in enterprise software, Ortega has also held senior marketing positions at Sun Microsystems, Astoria Software, Xamplify Technologies and Metacode Technologies.
“Dan has the ideal combination of marketing and enterprise technology smarts, and his data-driven and customer business impact approach will be instrumental in the adoption of our technology among customers and partners,” said Gary Oliver, Chief Executive Officer of Blazent.
In addition to Ortega’s background with Fortune 500 companies, he has a proven track record implementing global marketing initiatives for emerging startups. At Metacode Technologies, he spearheaded worldwide campaigns that were key revenue drivers, increasing capitalization to $200 million in 12 months. Ortega’s deep experience in enterprise software has led to the successful introduction of more than a dozen enterprise products throughout the entire product lifecycle process – from concept definition to global marketing execution and launch.
“Blazent stands out as one of just a handful of tech companies with a proven track record of successfully delivering a tangible ROI based on a rich 13-year history,” said Dan Ortega. “In addition to its deep history, Blazent has a scrappy startup mentality and having a chance to work alongside their seasoned management team is a rare and exciting opportunity.”
